아침산책 - Riis Park에서 맞은 아침

봄이 온 걸까, 어제 오후부터 기온이 오르고 바람이 잦아들었다.

오늘 아침은 봄기운을 느끼기 위해 Riis Park로 향했다.

막 동이 떠오르기 전이었다.

 

Riis Park의 상징이라고 할 수 있는 시계탑의 시계는

네 개의 얼굴을 가지고 있는데

오늘도 여전히 다 다른 시간을 가리키고 있었다.

이곳에서는 시간의 정확성에 대해서는

누구도 지적하거나 관심을 가져서는 안 된다는 어떤 불문율이 있기라도 한 모양이다.

 

바다에도 바람도 거의 불지 않아서

봄이 왔다는 심정을 굳힐 수 있었다.

 

바닷가에는 Oystercatcher(부리가 긴 새)들도 아침을 기다리고 있었다.

어떤 쌍은 가만히 서서,

어떤 쌍은 부지런히 먹이를 찾고 있었다.

그들이 지저귀는 소리는 마치 호루라기 속에 물을 넣고 부는 소리 같이

맑고 명랑했다.

 

떠오르는 해를 바라보며

그리고 새들의 지저귀는 고리를 들으며

한동안 시간의 흐름을 잊을 수 있었다.

 

맞다, Riis Park에서 시간의 흐름은 무의미한 것이다.

 

 

 

Morning Walk – A Morning at Riis Park

Has spring arrived? Since yesterday afternoon, the temperature has risen, and the winds have calmed down.

This morning, I headed to Riis Park to feel the signs of spring.

It was just before dawn.

The clock tower, which could be considered the symbol of Riis Park, has four faces.
Today, as always, each one was showing a different time.
It seems as though there's an unwritten rule here
that no one should point out or care about the accuracy of time.

There was hardly any wind over the sea,
which made me certain that spring had indeed arrived.

On the shore, oystercatchers with their long beaks were also waiting for the morning.
Some pairs stood still,
while others were busily searching for food.
Their chirping sounded bright and cheerful,
like the sound of blowing into a whistle filled with water.

Gazing at the rising sun,
and listening to the calls of the birds,
I was able to forget the passage of time for a while.

Yes, at Riis Park, the flow of time is meaningless.
