Morning Running

아름다운 아침이었다.

멀리 수평선으로부터 투명한 붉은빛이 위쪽으로 번져왔다.

베란다 문을 열고 밖으로 한 발을 내미는 순간, 소름이 돋을 정도로 찬 바람이 맨살에 닿았다.

잠에서 완전히 벗어나지 못했던 내가 갑작스레 현실 세계로 돌아온 순간이었다.

내가 가장 좋아하는 날씨였다.

 

달리기를 하러 출발점인 81 스트릿까지 천천히 달렸다.

나는 아침을 향해,

아침은 나를 맞으러 천천히 달려오고 있었다.

 

Barry와 Amed, 그리고 나, 셋이서 함께 뛰었다.

'Three's Company'

56 Rd.에서 시작되는 공원에 들어서자

향긋한 풀냄새가 코 주변을 맴돌았다.

술 속의 공기는 다른 곳보다 더 싱그럽고 더 많은 산소를 포함하고 있는 것 같았다.

내가 달리는 몇 발자국 앞에서 토끼가 나를 앞질러 달리고 있었다.

1 마일 넘게 달려온 피로가 그 숲을 달리며 스르르 사라지는 것 같다.

 

늘 그러하듯, Barry가 정성껏 준비한 따뜻한 티를 마시며

티처럼 따뜻한 이야기를 나누었다.

그리고 눈길을 돌려 바라본 바다에서

고래와 돌고래를 보며 즐거워했다.

 

오늘, 나의 행복일지는 이렇게 쓸 것이다.

아침에 해를 바라보기,

바다를 바라보며 달리기

그리고 숲의 향기를 맡으며 숲길을 달리기,

따뜻한 차를 마시며 바다를 바라보기.(고래들의 장난을 볼 수 있으면 최고로 행복하다.)

 

It was a beautiful morning.

From the distant horizon, a transparent reddish light was spreading upward.

The moment I opened the veranda door and stepped outside, the cold wind touched my bare skin, giving me goosebumps.

It was the moment I suddenly returned to the real world, not fully out of sleep yet.

It was my favorite kind of weather.

I slowly jogged to 81st Street, the starting point for my run.

I was running toward the morning,

and the morning was slowly running to greet me.

Barry, Amed, and I, the three of us ran together.

"Three's Company"

As we entered the park starting from 56th Road,

the fragrant smell of grass lingered around my nose.

The air in the forest felt fresher and seemed to contain more oxygen than anywhere else.

A rabbit was running ahead of me, just a few steps in front.

The fatigue from running over a mile seemed to melt away as I ran through that forest.

As always, we sipped the warm tea Barry had carefully prepared

and shared stories as warm as the tea.

And as I turned my gaze to the sea,

we enjoyed watching the whales and dolphins.

Today, my happiness journal will be written like this:

Looking at the sunrise in the morning,

running while looking at the sea,

and running through the forest path while smelling the forest's fragrance,

drinking warm tea while looking at the sea. (If I can see the whales playing, it’s the happiest moment.)
